Was it Deliberate & Intentional not to include Meryl Streep (Ricki and the Flash) on the list ???

Streep is already LOCKED for the Golden Globes & Critics Choice ….. so what’s the deal ???

She’s not getting a campaign and the film is going to be WEAK and if she ever had a chance of getting in, it would have to be with a powerful campaign

Yes, Etchie. Leaving out Streep was intentional. Producer Marc Platt already said there might not even be a campaign for her. A Globe nod is a given but an Oscar nod is doubtful in my eyes and potentially that of the studio.

By the way, everyone (and you’re hearing it from me first…but not like I have any credibility), but I am certain, upon reading the script, either Samuel L. Jackson or Kurt Russell or both will be going lead in The Hateful Eight. Its the smart move, because Jackson is locked for a nomination either way, but him in lead would allow someone like Tim Roth or Bruce Dern to get nominated in Supporting.

I think it’s important at this stage in the game to put contenders in multiple categories because we have no idea where strategists will place them once campaigns start. We could have easily assumed Waltz would be campaigned as Lead for Django so that room would be made to campaign DiCaprio as Supporting, but look what happened there. In all honesty, where actors are placed is determined more by which actors from other films are contending rather than which actors from the same film are contending.

In that sense, I think it’s highly unlikely that anyone from The Hateful Eight is campaigned as a Lead actor. It’s an ensemble film and nominees and winners from films that live or die on the central performance are what usually grab Lead Actor nominations (like biopics–which there are a lot of again this year).

REALLY Now ….. Is this a GoldDerby Official List & Stance  ???

And you take a position based on a MISLEADING & UNCERTAIN Article  ???

Did Sony and Streep already announced to EXCLUDE them from Consideration  ???

I’d also like to add a few more Supporting Actress contenders. Rose Byrne for Spy and Tilda Swinton for Trainwreck.
