Still annoys me that Alden Ehrenreich isn’t in the supporting actor race. Interesting to see how loved Toni Erdmann is. Huppert in Elle is the best lead actress performance of the year too.

Travante Rhodes over Ashton Sanders in “Moonlight”. Get real, man. Like really real. Sanders’ performance and segment were the best parts of that film. As much as I love “Moonlight” overall I do not think the final segment is quite as strong as the first two.

Completely agree. I didn’t love the final act, but Moonlight was incredible and Sanders was the best performance in the whole film for me.

They have also published their t30s (t50 for Picture) in every category. You guys can also check that out.

Films that are in Oscar contention that couldn’t get into their T50: Fences, Lion, Hidden Figures and Hacksaw Ridge.

Actors that missed the longlist: Liam Neeson(Issei was at 11th) and Octavia Spencer. Patel was in lead. Grant was in supporting. Bridges, Davis, Foster, Gyllenhaal, Rhodes were in both. 4 men from Moonlight and 4 women from Certain Women made it in the same catrgory.
