I see no thread for the winners.

    Arrival has just won Adapted.

Arrival FTW. Go beat Moonlight at the Oscars.

Well that’s yet another sign of a Moonlight being locked in this category. Hidden Figures (and those people who thought the SAG win was more than it is) and Fences (with Wilson’s name on it) couldn’t even beat Arrival here. Moonlight’s only problem is some sort of late surge of love for Lion, which of course won’t happen.

    Let’s wait for Original Screenplay…

Well, I’m writing off Hidden Figures at the Oscars. Moonlight is the frontrunner, but not a lock. Lion and Arrival are fighting to upset. Interesting race!

I can see Moonlight winning Original next!

That would be AMAZING LOL! But even though Arrival also won the Critics Choice for Best Adapted Screenplay, I think Moonlight is a lock to win that one, in spite of how obviously godawful it was.

Moonlight will become the new WORST Best Picture winner ever, and as the years go by more and more people will see it for the disaster that it truly is. Talk about heartbreaking.

I believe that everyone involved in the making of Hidden Figures is pretty happy with how things ended up. They made an Oscar nominated film that is making money, advancing the power of STEM careers and proving that these type of stories matter to ticket buying moviegoers.

Is there a chance that with both the Critics Choice and now WGA under its belt, that Arrival can win Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars?

    Of course. It’s a three-way race.

Damn, I actually saw that one too. It was good, but I could not bet against Alex Gibney.
