^^Underestimate The Favourite at your peril
Hm, idk I thought Emma Stone was serving double life sentences for the robbery she committed last season
Those sentences don’t pertain to Colman, Weisz and Lanthimos.

Best Original ScoreYou do know Lanthimos had final cut on this movie despite not writing its script? It won’t be a standard prestige period picture exercise.

EXACTLY. The Academy’s tastes are changing. No one wants something conventional and stuffy, five years ago Darkest Hour would have been a lock but now they want something different. I fear that Mary, Queen of Scots will go down the same way, much too conventional.

Same. My profile here is turning into a Timothée Chalamet fan account at a rate I did not expect, but am entirely OK with.

This is probably my dream lineup, if Adams is supporting for Backseat, minus Chastain. I’d also be sooo happy if Vera Farmiga or Amy Ryan got noms for The Front Runner and Beautiful Boy, respectively.

While I’m sure he’ll be very present with flashbacks, his character still dies in a film with a large ensemble. Also, I feel as though the focus could turn more to the Rupert Turner character. He was a last minute substitute of mine upon learning Robert Duvall doesn’t seem to play a particularly compelling character in Widows.

Yeah this may be the one category I gave which shows my biases rather than cold predictions. But I’m also a fan of both Vera Farmiga and Amy Ryan so either of them making it in would be amazing. (Probably replacing the Chastain and Portman slots if I’m thinking more strategically)
ReplyCopy URLDecember 19, 2017 at 7:43 am #1202444330On Ryan, I argue she would have made a deserving Oscar winner for Gone Baby Gone.

Oh same here! Definitely put some of my faves into my predictions because it’s this early, but I do hope Dolan’s film is well received and does get a few noms.

Agreed. I thought she was perfect in that.
