#PredictionsSoWhite lool. I think there are quite a number of baity projects out next year with PoC in the cast for another all-white line-up to happen

I didn’t even notice. I literally just took big names from Noah Arlington’s list. I’m sure more projects will be revealed in the future or there are some out there that I’m not aware of.

Based on what I’ve seed so far in this comment feed, it looks like Best Supporting Actress may well be a “Battle of the Redheads.”

You have Amy Adams for ‘Backseat.’ She’s not a natural redhead, nor is she a redhead in the movie. But she is a redhead in almost every film she’s in.

You have Jessica Chastain for ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.’ She’s both a natural redhead and a redhead in the movie.

You have Nicole Kidman for ‘Boy Erased.’ She is a natural redhead, despite not being a redhead in most of her films, including this one.

You have Margot Robbie for ‘Mary, Queen of Scots.’ She’s not a natural redhead, but she is a redhead in the movie.

So right there you have four out of five.

And then there’s the possibility that all five nominees end up being redheads in one form or another. The dark horse fifth redhead is Isla Fisher for ‘The Starling.’ Right now, the film doesn’t yet have a release date and is still in pre-production, so it could be pushed back into 2019 unless they pull off a ‘The Post’ and get post-production finished early. But it has a very promising director (Dome Karukoski) and a very, very promising screenplay (it was near the top of the Black List at one point). Should that screenplay translate onto film well, Fisher will become a major contender.

I really hope this Dick Cheney biopic isn’t Amy Adams’ Oscar vehicle, although I desperately want her to win an Oscar, I can’t imagine this role is more than Oscar-bait supporting wife role. I’d be fine if she won in supporting but her past supporting nominations had great dynamic characters.

I’d prefer if she won her overdue statuette in supporting since her nod count dominates there.

Be still my heart. What I would do to see Sissy get #2. I think a lot of people still are hurting since 2002. Not being in the end of the film killed her that year.

No one is hurting that she lost to Berry. Dench and Zellweger are currently Supporting Actress winners only.

    – Christian Bale getting his second Oscar but first leading one
    – Blanchett getting her 8th nod
    – Ronan getting her 4th nod
    – Close getting her 7th nod and 1st win
    – Debicki getting her “breakthrough” and love from the critics in Widows
    – Jake Gyllenhaal getting his 2nd nod

The fact that one of the best actors working today has only been nominated once when he’s nomination worthy in just about every movie he does is crazy to me. He’ll be getting his trophy in the next five years, I hope.

Why do people in here think Kit Harrington has any chance? He’s a horrible actor. His acting on Game of Thrones in by far the worst performance in the entire show, from day 1. Yeah, it also has to do with the awful writing, but still, that’s not an excuse for him having only one facial expression, like a poor man’s Elijah Wood.

I’m wondering if Suspiria will be a contender, especially since the academy will be much more aware of Luca.

I’m personally hoping for Tilda Swinton to finally be noticed by the Academy again.

It’s hard enough for me to write in English as it is not my native language, you really want me to try out my French as well?
