I do wish they would wait unitl we got a chance to see all hte eligible films. I’ve read that Inherent Vice and Selma aren’t coming to my city until January 9th. I’m hoping to see Wild and The Imitation Game this weekend, which will help me to clear up contradictory things I’ve read about Laura Dern and Keira Knightley’s performances. (but on the other hand sometimes seeing the actual films makes predicting harder if you don’t think their work is anything special, as is the case with Mark Ruffalo’s performance in Foxcatcher). I also would love to have an opportunity to see Selma beforehand so I can make up my own mind about it. So there is an advantage for those of you who have already gotten to see these films. (and of course, Into The Woods, which I think everyone is under-rating, but I haven’t seen it yet either).
