    When Americans realize that Tilda Swinton’s weakest performance is stronger than all Oscar-winners performances combined.

    Swinton should have about 6-7 nominations and a few wins by now.

    Are you suggesting she’ll become the first woman to receive a posthumous nomination?

    Maybe soon – she’s playing Hedda Hopper in the Coens’ Hail, Caesar! next year, the same person as Helen Mirren’s playing in Trumbo. Though I don’t like the look of that February release date…

    I wonder if Tilda was ever number 6 and almost missed out on a nomination.

    Yeah for We Need to Talk About Kevin probably.

    Shame Snowpiercer didn’t get much attention last year.

    I have been thinking about this topic as well, only I was thinking more broadly. Tilda Swinton is such a good example of this and I feel she is the one actor who has been snubbed most.

    Others that I’m waiting to see get their second acting nomination are:
    * Rachel Weisz (I thought she could have surprised with Deep Blue Sea)
    * Ryan Gosling
    * Vera Farmiga
    * Josh Brolin
    * Casey Affleck
    * Amy Ryan
    * Rachel Griffiths
    * Toni Collette
    * Paul Giamatti
    * Forest Whitaker (I thought that The Butler would be the one)
    * Hugh Jackman
    * Adrien Brody
    * Stockard Channing
