3 female Director nominees. Only 1 woman has ever won (Tonie Marshall) but I think there are now 16 different female directors who have been nominated in the eh category.

Marguerite and My Golden Days lead with 11 noms; Dheepan and Mustang  have 9 each.

    It’s Gerard Depardieu’s 17 nom; Isabelle Huppert’s 15th; Catherine Deneuve’s 14th.

Thrilled that Agnes Jaoui is nommed for The Easy Way Out but it’s the only nom for the movie.

Cannes winners Vincent Lidnon and Emmanuelle Bercot are nommed; Bercot is nommed for directing and acting. (and screenplay).

    Surprised by the  L’Astragale shoutout

It is a shame the girls from Mustang were snubbed!

I suspect that with the strong similarities to the upcoming Meryl Streep biopic of Florence Foster Jenkins we won’t see Marguerite playing outside Europe for some time.

it always takes me about a year to get to se all the Cesar nominees so I have only gotten trhough last year’s nominees. Looking forward to seeing these films.

I am rooting for Catherine Frot, Benoit Magimel, Agnes Jaoui, Lou Leroy-Collinet and a 3 way tie Quentin Dolmaire, Finnegan Oldfield and Rod Paradot.

I suspect Vincent Lindon will repeat his Cannes win here. But I think Catherine Frot will win and not Emanuelle Bercot.

Noemie Lvovsky will likely continue her losing steak as the most nominated never to win.

I’m not certain but I dont’ think the Mustang girls were eligible for Newcomer – I think that’s French speaking only – they would have had to be nommed for lead or supporting actress.

I have the feeling this will be Arnaud Desplechin’s year to win, but the Cesars are always hard to predict.

Happy to see Louis Garel, Benoit Magimel and Vicnent Rottiers in supporting actor!

Past acting winners: Bacri, Cassel, Depardieu (twice), Luchini, de France (twice), Deneuve (twice), Frot, Huppert, Garrel, Forestier (twice), Jaoui (once for acting, 3 times for writing), and Viard (twice)

Audiard has won twice before. Maiwenn should have won for Poliss a few years ago.

I want to see all of these movies! (:

I am outraged that they nominated Dheepan nine times but not for actress/newcomer.
