    Hey guys!

I’m back with my latest nominations announcement video for my movie awards, a.k.a. the Filmiest Awards. So many great films this year and it was genuinely agonizing to narrow down some of the acting races (the Actress race was BRUTAL).

But anyway, here it is! Please check it out and let me know what you think!

Love the nomination for Trevante Rhodes. I know everyone loves Ali, but Rhodes just brought me to tears with that dinner scene. Really sad, that he couldnt get into the Oscar race. 🙁 Also great to see Janelle Monae and Greta Gerwig in the Supporting Actress category. Loved that “Someone in the crowd” nom and Rebecca Hall!!!

Just wanted to say I love so may of your noms and wins! I rarely find someone with so many overlapping opinions. (I have to still make a site dedicated to my personal awards..) But I also give BP wins to Zero Dark Thirty (noms for Amour and Moonrise Kingdom), Her (noms for 12 Years and Gravity), Boyhood (noms for Gone Girl and Under the Skin), DDL, Jacob Tremblay, Emmanuelle Riva, Rosamund Pike, PSH, JK Simmons, Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart, and way too many similar acting noms to name (with Channing being the most surprising one to most, he was awesome). Can’t wait to read the rest of your blog now!

Thank you both! I love doing this just to keep track of my own taste over the years and I try not to rubber-stamp, since there’s so much out there that goes unrecognized every year.

One more bump just to make sure everyone’s seen this.

And here’s a written breakdown, with nomination totals at the bottom:

Love the nods to Ehrenreich, LaBeouf, Monae (who played my cousin!), and Gerwig! Question: All the enthusiasm for the wonderful 20th Century Women and no lead actress nomination for Annette Benning? Hers was my favorite lead female performance of the year.

Ugh that was the most painful decision to me, Bening. But I just love all the other performances there so much. This was such an incredible year for lead actresses, and I felt bad for cutting her, but I just preferred Adams-Hall-Huppert-Portman more, and I truly believe Davis is a lead actress in Fences.
