Two brilliant performances by young actors have been showcased this year, and are (relatively speaking) in the conversation one way or another. Two completely different films and performances – but if you had to vote for one, which would it be and why?
I feel like Attah was better, but his performance is sticking less with me beause the movie was so cold, so voting with my heart here.
I liked Jacob’s film a little more but I definitely preferred Abraham’s work.
Tremblay is great, but Attah’s performance was beyond epic.
Attah, without a doubt.
I echo a couple of the above sentiments: I liked “Room” better than “Beasts of No Nation,” but Abraham Attah’s performance knocked me out more than Tremblay’s did. Both are aces, though, and worthy of awards.
I liked ‘Beasts of No Nation’ much more than ‘Room’, and Attah was much better, so this one is easy.
I could see the directing behind Tremblay’s performance, if that makes sense. When he cried or showed emotion, I could almost hear Abrahamson coaching him to that point. Attah was sincere and earnest every moment he was on-screen.
