Who do you Gold Derby-ites predict are going to present the awards? Who would you like to see present them?
Al Pacino and Christopher Walken
(Obviously) Meryl Streep
(Obviously) Jean Dujardin
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Original Screenplay
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Animated Feature
Best Cinematography/Art Direction/Costume Design
Tom HanksDecember 1, 2012 at 1:17 pm #76926
I think the director award will be given
out by a big name director..such as
COPPOLA or SCORSESE….EASTWOOD
I ‘d love some big stars and not the usual TV people..
but its about the ratings..so we all lose..
Ideally i would love to see some of these people
and of course the 4 winners from 2011 should present !!!December 1, 2012 at 2:14 pm #76927
I hope no one insists Streep come. She didn’t after her two previous wins. She deserves a year off. If fans of hers are disappointed, so what? She doesn’t owe them or the Academy this. She’s be a trouper all these years.
It’s a lot to ask someone to travel 5000 miles round trip, attend a rehearsal, get all glammed up so people can take potshots at you, just to appear on a stage for 2 minutes.

Honestly, I would love to see Daniel Day-Lewis present something. I was thinking about how he should present the Best Picture award at some point in the next few years.December 1, 2012 at 2:44 pm #76929
I’d love to see “Ted” presenting. Even hosting.December 1, 2012 at 2:44 pm #76930
Al Pacino, Gene Hackman, Olivia de Havilland, Jack Nicholson, Jessica Lange, Carol Channing, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence, Lindsay Lohan.December 1, 2012 at 2:47 pm #76931
De Havilland is never coming back to the US she says; Lohan unfortunately is likely to be in jail (not that there’s a chance she’d be asked).December 1, 2012 at 2:51 pm #76932
For those who haven’t followed this over the year – most big names have zero interest in being presenters. Apart from a handful who have done so regularly (Hanks, Nicholson, Spielberg), most don’t have any interest in going to the ceremony, less to be presenters (and have to go to the rehearsal as well), those out of town even more loathe. The exceptions are usually those who have something to promote or otherwise want publicity. It’s been that way for decades, will always be that way.December 1, 2012 at 2:54 pm #76933
Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman
Ben Affleck and Matt DamonDecember 1, 2012 at 2:57 pm #76934

LOL!!!! I’m sure she will be!December 1, 2012 at 3:47 pm #76935
Hopefully Ben Stiller. He always is great at presenting-remember Avatar? He went with Emma Stone last year. I’m thinking we’ll also see Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, etc/
Now that Joaquin Phoenix has a good shot at being nominated, it’ll be funny to see how the presenters embrace him. And how they’ll bring up his ‘retirement’.
With Seth hosting, I’m sure we’ll see Ted in some form, probably in a scripted segment with Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and hopefully Sam Jones and Ryan Reynolds.

I would like Ang Lee, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Honey Boo Boo (if they want ratings), Adele (if she’s nominated for BOS), Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Lange, Natalie Portman, Milan Kunis, Chelsea Handler, Tina Fey, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Oprah, etc. I know this aren’t all movie starts, but if would be really fun if they shaked it up a bit. I also know, there isn’t a chance in hell Honey Boo Boo presents. :/December 1, 2012 at 3:52 pm #76937
Also. Emma Stone, Kristen Wigg, Melisa McCarthy, Mindy Kalling, Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck, Lena DunhamDecember 1, 2012 at 6:19 pm #76938
De Havilland still travels all the time. Yes she lives in Paris right now, but a few months ago she did attend some kind of Festival in America.December 1, 2012 at 6:39 pm #76939
She had a tribute at the Academy Theater a couple years ago, she made a big point of saying it was the final time she’d come to LA.
There’s no way a woman in her mid 90s is going to travel from Paris to LA for a 2 minute appearance on the Oscars.
It would be neat, but just unthinkable. Unless perhaps she’s told her sister will go in her place, and she decides to spite her and go instead. (She and Joan Fontaine supposedly haven’t ever reconciled).
