    Best Picture

  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • Tim Robbins has publicly spoken out that he feels the film is the nonsexual love story of two men, Andy and Red. Do you agree? In your viewing of the film, is their love nonsexual?

Why would you waste a third Oscar on Foster?

I’d make this her 2nd Oscar. I’d give her 1st Oscar to Glenn Close for Dangerous Liaisons.

I think Foster would’ve been a marvelous winner…of that year’s Razzie.

The Silence of the Lambs is her best and most iconic work. Have no problem with Lange’s Blue Sky win.

Jessica Lange winning for Blue Sky is not an awful choice. I would just give it to Jodie Foster. Plus, I meant that I would her Oscar for The Accused to Glenn Close for Dangerous Liaisons.

The Lion King should’ve made it for Best Picture, Original Screenplay, Production Design, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Supporting Actor for Jeremy Irons.

Of the Academy’s ho-hum line-up, Ryder. Lange and Richardson were decent too. Sarandon could’ve done that in her sleep.

Beyond the Oscar picks, Kathleen Turner in “Serial Mom.”

I wonder what would have happened if Foster had not won for The Accused, both she and Lange would have been competing for their second award then. I think Foster would have had the advantage since the film was bigger.

Had Foster lost for both “The Accused” and “The Silence of the Lambs,” I have no doubt she would’ve prevailed for “Nell.” Lange was an extremely weak front-runner, perhaps one of the category’s all-time weakest.
