I would substitute Bridget Fonda in A Simple Plan for Judi Dench’s regal 3 minutes in Shakespeare in Love (and still give the Oscar to Lynn Redgrave).

Jerry Goldsmith’s work on MULAN is one of the finest films scores (*not* song score) ever written for an animated Disney film ever.  The songs may be only OK, but his work is stellar.
