Hello all.. one of these days I was checking some movies on IMDB and I ended up finding out that “Antz” was nominated for a BAFTA in Best Visual Effects, and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was competing to an Academy Awards in this category. So I was wondering, if animations can compete in this category, why aren’t they nominated? “The Incredibles” totally deserved in 2004, Wall-e in 2008, Up, Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Happy Feet, Brave, Inside Out, The Good Dinossaur.. And one of the most underrated animations in recent times, The Adventures of Tintin, has the best motion-capture effect I’ve ever seen.. its photorealistics effects were much much better and groundbreaking than “Hugo” that ended up winning. So why are they always ignored if animations have been nominated in the past and often ends up having Screenplay, Score, Songs and Sounds nominations. Sounds unfair to me.

The Good Dinosaur would’ve been a very well-deserved nomination. Also WALL-E should’ve been considered.

WALL-E was shortlisted. But yeah, they are unfairly ignored by the Academy.
