^Incredible makeup work, no? When I first heard of Hopkins’ casting, I had a hard time imagining him as Hitchcock. I’m not doubting Hopkins or the makeup crew anymore.

This will come out after the Tippi Hedren biopic being made for cable in which Hitchcock is going to come across very badly.

No denying the makeup job, that’s for sure. I like that its being told as a love story.. Otherwise it would turn into a Hollywood, Aviator-style epic, not that the film doesn’t have its merits.

Somebody should tell those suckups at Awards Daily that this is the USA and we don’t bow to “royalty.”

Actually, the sad reality is that on this site and in general, the American instinct is to do exactly that.

That said, neither Hopkins nor Mirren is royalty. Being knighted is an honor separate and apart from the scam of royalty.

Very impressive.  I was shocked when I first saw the pic.  I cannot wait to see this.

First Williams as Monroe, then Streep as Thatcher and now Hopkins as Hitchcock – those make-ups are so totally impressive that it’s almost beyond words. Amazing! Maybe “The Iron Lady” Oscar glory will start a trend of winning for make-up of human being rather than monster or something.

Sorry. Epic fail. Doesn’t remotely capture Hitchcock. It looks like Anthony Hopkins trying to look like Hitchcock.

Obviously, how he acts on films rather than still photos will make the difference, but from what I’ve seen, this looks like a mistake.

I think the first photo released was solid enough. These other ones aren’t of him in character, so it looks different (definitely wouldn’t think of Hitchcock – perhaps Eddie Murphy doing one of his characters).

No not likely. I dont think the film is quite finished yet.
But I do admire Jeff Cronenweth, along with that cast. Perhaps he’ll be third-time lucky with Oscar.
