Hi everyone, first post here 🙂

How accurate are BAFTAs with tech categories? For example: The Revenant is missing a VFX nom at BAFTA this year, but still seems a dark horse in Oscar.

Hey! There have been several Oscar winners for Visual Effects that missed out on a BAFTA nom:

    “Cocoon”
    “Innerspace”
    “The Abyss”
    “What Dreams May Come”

Also, the non-Oscar-nominated likes of “Brazil,” “The Witches of Eastwick” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” won the BAFTA prize.

Thing is, those were back BEFORE the BAFTAs were a precursor to the Oscars. Ever since, there’s been a clearer correlation.
