Moneyball remains the best sport movie I’ve ever seen. It deserved to sweep the race the year it was nominated and it should’ve won the awards The Artist did (specially Sorkin’s script and Brad Pitt’s INCREDIBLE performance). It’s riveting, strong, ecstatic and timeless. A real gem. I might rewatch it right now!

I’ve never been too big into watching baseball on TV, but I carry a lot of reverence for the history of the sport, in part because, as a kid, I read the Dan Gutman book series about a kid who got to meet various baseball players by traveling through time. But, that’s a bit beside the point. Done well, baseball can make for one very cinematic subject, and there have been some great films about about it over the years.

My favorite has to remain Field of Dreams. I know it’s a little sappy for some people, but as a story about nostalgia, life decisions, and family relationships, it strikes me to my core. And James Earl Jones’ supporting performance is one of my all-time faves.

But, anyway… let’s try out that roster. The female acting categories were a little harder to fill out, but here goes.
