Jack Lemmon was the winner in our last poll about ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’
This needs some serious polling. I know this film’s humor goes over a lot of people’s heads, especially most here in Gold Derby but one thing everyone agrees is that the performances is are top-notch. So…who’s the best in show??
lol I can’t wait for the hatefest.
you have 2 days!

Amy, by far.August 24, 2014 at 10:48 am #159033
Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper (even if I dislike him) were the standouts with Amy Adams being a strong third. I liked Jeremy Renner as well. I think Christian Bale was Razzie-worthy and the Robert De Niro cameo had no point.August 24, 2014 at 10:52 am #159034
Lawrence, C.K., and Bale. I also loved De Niro’s cameo. But I voted for Lawrence because she made me laugh the most in such a joyless movie.August 24, 2014 at 10:55 am #159035
Amy Adams easily
Then I think Louis CK
Cooper and Bale in 3rd.August 24, 2014 at 11:02 am #159036
Adams.August 24, 2014 at 11:20 am #159038
Is this even a competition? Jennifer Lawrence is the only reason to watch the movie.August 24, 2014 at 11:24 am #159039
Jennifer Lawrence was great but so hammy in her first scene. I’m going with Amy.August 24, 2014 at 11:24 am #159040
Back to topic of the main 5:
and I know it’s all subjective (if I had a nickel for everytime…), but I seriously don’t know how any one can call this film joyless. Like, it doesn’t have the OMGimportance and OMGgravit(y)as of some other films of that season, and I don’t think those are necessarily the standards of great films, but it’s the most joyous time I’ve had in a theater in a long time. Acting is superb all around, direction is slick, screenplay is whipcrack smart, and everything just worked so well. Like, what more could you want?August 24, 2014 at 11:26 am #159041
I think you just have to refresh. The polls tend to not update sometimes.August 24, 2014 at 11:28 am #159042
Amy Adams.August 24, 2014 at 11:33 am #159043
It’s just funny, because people tend to call this a great ensembe movie. Jennifer Lawrence was my favorite in the movie, but even she didn’t make my Supporting Actress lineup, she was around 8th-9th, so I guess I wasn’t a fan of this ensemble at all.August 24, 2014 at 11:35 am #159044
Adams. She was terrific, one of her best IMHO. The scene of her telling Bale’s character that she’s going to pretend to love Cooper’s character, and maybe she really does love him, is some of her finest work.
