Amy (soon to be an Oscar winner) Adams was voted best in show in our last poll on ‘American Hustle’.

Now we take a look at a criminally underrated and under nominated films of last year ‘Prisoners’ by Denis Villenueve. Who was best in show??

    ————–

Best in Show #1: Meryl Streep – August Osage County
Best in Show #2: Mark Wahlberg – I Heart Huckabees
Best in Show #3: Sandra Bullock – Crash
Best in Show #4: Kim Basinger – L.A. Confidential
Best in Show #5: Jack Lemmon – Glengarry Glen Ross
Best in Show #6: Amy Adams – American Hustle

I loved this movie so much. 2nd Favortie movie behind Gravity of 2013. Hugh Jackman gave the best performance for an actor last year and should have been nominated so I voted for Jackman but the whole cast was amazing

I love Villeneuve as a director. Incendies, Prisoners and Enemy are all terrific.

Off topic, just noticed that this thread and that of Best Actress 2014 Part 2 have malfunctioning counter with  # Views LESS Than # Posts.  Counter reads 5 Posts & 2 Views for this thread while for Best Actress 2014 Part 2 Posts=8 Views=5.

Gyllenhaal gives one of his best performances here, and I think his perf is somewhat underrated by most. After Gyllenhaal, Jackman and Leo were big standouts. Leo in particular was excellent here. My vote goes to Gyllenhaal, but Leo and Jackman were right behind him.

I think there is no contest here. Gyllenhaal gave a stunning performance and the Oscars snubbed him.

Melissa Leo is my runner-up. Jackman is my third.

Viola Davis was lovely in her few scenes, but Maria Bello was annoying as hell.

Terrence Howard and Paul Dano had not much to do.

I went with MeLeo because she was robbed of an oscar nod last year.

This wasn’t one of my favorite films from 2013, but Jake Gyllenhaal was pretty fanastic.

    Yes! Prisoners! Villeneuve! Lol.

    Let’s see…..

Me thinks the entire cast is truly terrific. Of them all, I’ll go with Hugh, simply because of the sh_t he takes from we arm-chair quarterbacks,  repeatedly. He goes from regular hunter- guy to out of his mind. So, props to Mr Besmirched.

Jackman easily. This movie was one of the most raved about after Telluride and Toronto something to keep in mind in the next few weeks.

Good Gawd Jackman is going to win this poll! Lolol!

These polls are highly entertaining imo. Thanks Boog for doing them. Something fun for August and the big build-up to Oscar glory.
