    7 semifinalists named:

    “Hitchcock”
    “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”
    “Les Misérables”
    “Lincoln”
    “Looper”
    “Men in Black 3”
    “Snow White and the Huntsman”

Biggest snub seems to be Cloud Atlas, though others could be cited – Dark Knight Rises I suspect is one, Anna Karenina maybe, Avengers?

Biggest snub BY FAR is ‘Cloud Atlas’… Yikes. I can see ‘TDKR’ and ‘Anna Karenina’ being snubs.. ‘The Avengers’ not so much. Maybe ‘Django Unchained’?

Django for Samuel Jackson alone should have been considered; otherwise most of the makeup would have been whip marks.

Really? Every time I see Jude Law as “Karenin” I burst out into bawdy laughter.

I wonder if the Golden Penis Gawds will somehow try to intervene with the Lincoln sweep?

“Holy Motors” probably didn’t even try to enter consideration, but that would be my favorite make-up/hairstyling work of the year by far.

Wow, Looper, seriously?  Yeah, they tried, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt still looked ridiculous.

So we all think that Lincoln, Les Mis and The Hobbit are pretty safe?

I have moved Cloud Atlas down to fifth place in my visual effects predictions.

Still do not understand why this category has three slots when all twenty-three others have five.

    or sometimes 2
    Remember the year of Frida?
    But once they got 4
Seeing how they like real characters, Lincoln will win this easily
    If Amadeus, Iron Lady, Elisabeth….
Lord of the Rings won anytime was nominated…. i dont understand why the Two Towers was not nominated but the other two were…. specially in his year there were only two nominated movies….

I think Men In Black 3 stands a better chance at a nomination for make-up. They dig the work done in the films. The first one even won.

‘The Hobbit’ doesn’t deserve the nomination, to be honest. I’m thinking:

    ‘Lincoln’
    ‘Les Miserables’
    ‘Men in Black 3’

    MAYBE

‘Hitchcock’ (even though I think it looks ridiculous, much more than ‘Looper’)
    ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’
‘The Hobbit’ (based on past nominations, though this one isn’t worthy in my personal opinion)

    NOT LIKELY:

‘Looper’ (even though I’d place ‘Looper’ higher than ‘The Hobbit’, ‘MIB3’ and ‘Hitchcock’ in my own rankings)

I’m still dumbfounded how Cloud Atlas isn’t on this list. I thought it was a shoo-in to WIN. Was it disqualified for some reason? It just doesn’t make sense.

    Yus Looper!!!

I’m surprised that, once again, Snow White and the Huntsman has made another semifinal list. How!?

And yeah, it’s totally ridiculous that Holy Motors didn’t make it, but at the same time it’s not because it was never going to make it in the first place.
