Early to measure the competition, but Inside Out sure is gonna be a threat.

I’ll remain skeptical about it at least until the trailer lands and convince me otherwise. But I listed it anyway.

    3. The Hateful Eight

    4. The Program

    5. Inside out

“The Program” MIGHT be adapted from the book “Seven Deadly Sins”.

Not including ‘Joy’ is a huge mistake.

Reaction to the screenplay has been universally positive, and David O. Russell is overdue at this point.

There’s typically a Pixar slot here when they get the kind of acclaim Inside Out has, I think Russell and Tarantino are the heavy hitters in the branch. So there’s three. I think Amy Schumer is having a moment and has been pretty rapturously praised — sort of in the vein of Bridesmaids

I would include Suffraggette in the fifth slot — Abi Morgan’s stature has been rising in recent years and it seems like the kind of movie that voters want to embrace.

    Predictions:
    The Hateful Eight
    Inside Out

    Joy
    Suffragette

    Trainwreck

For the first time I think animated film might actually win for its screenplay as “Inside Out” is so beautifully written and acclaimed plus there is no clear frontrunner as of right now. It will eventually happen so why not for this year.

Thanks but I’ll wait for the trailer.

    Agreed.  And it’s worthy.

“Bridge of Spies” is apparently original after all and not an adaption of the 2010 book written by Giles Whittel that uses the same title and is about the same events. Strange but perhaps might be right.

Im a little leary of this one, is it possible for Bridge of Spies to commit category fraud? Will Ampas put Bridge of Spies in Adapted?

So I saw teaser of “Joy” and I’m not impressed – Christmassy music almost gave me qualm. Let’s not judge the project by its teaser.

On the other hand, “Demolition” was pushed to April, 2016, so “Joy” is surely even more a contender. Also “Demolition” now out of the way, Jake Gyllenhaal’s campaign might focus on “Southpaw”.

Hmm.. Demolition is off the race now (sucks).
As of now I’m unsure of the Bridge of Spies category placement.
So I tend to incline towards “By The Sea” at the moment, followed by “Youth” and “Everybody Wants Some”.

    Inside Out

    Joy

    Suffragette

    The Hateful Eight

    By the Sea
