I really hope the Oscar voters take the time to watch the documentary “Served Like a Girl”. I hope they nominate “Dancing Through the Wreckage” by Pat Benatar for Best Song. It is powerful and important.November 11, 2017 at 2:22 pm #1202408067
No one is talking about “The Pure and the Damned” from Good Time? Jesus, this is astonishingly the perfect original song to close a film! Loved it!
Added the song to the master list, thank you for your inclusion.
I have also added “Obey the Law of the Heart” from Basmati Blues. It’s by Pearl Jam so has some name recognition behind it.November 11, 2017 at 11:03 pm #1202408365
Beauty and the Beast or Greatest Showman will win this year. Everyone else are just pretenders.
Also I think “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” has a shot even though Fifty Shades Darker is an abysmal movie.November 12, 2017 at 5:06 am #1202408524
I’m not sure if Beauty & the Beast can win this year, some Academy members may feel ‘been there, done that’ as they already awarded the much more acclaimed animated film back in 1992.
I’d actually keep an eye out on ‘Remember Me’ from Coco. For one, it’s a very catchy song that I won’t stop playing. And with Coco being a potential frontrunner for Best Animated Feature, that could help ‘Remember Me’ in Best Original Song.November 12, 2017 at 5:38 am #1202408538

A documentary song?November 16, 2017 at 12:45 pm #1202412658
So do we know anything about a potential song in Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool yet? Cause that J. Ralph composer credit is not something to be taken lightly after the last few yearsNovember 20, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1202416275
Where’s “I Get Overwhelmed” from A Ghost Story? If the movie is soon all but forgotten, I at least want that song to survive.November 20, 2017 at 4:30 pm #1202416305
“Mystery of Love” is absolutely everythingggg!
That’s all.November 20, 2017 at 5:27 pm #1202416372
The Star? Everyone?
The Star? Please, that’s not going to happen. Oscar voters will dismiss Mariah Carey’s song as a ripoff of her own classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
Okay but… “The Star” is actually a pretty good song. Reminds me a lot of “When You Believe,” which won the Oscar 18 years ago.
