Since Andrew D. already did a thread on Best Costume Design, I thought I’d do one on Best Production Design.

Here is a list of all the nominees and winners in this category since 2010…

    2010:
    Alice in Wonderland (winner)
    Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows-Part 1
    Inception
    The King’s Speech
    True Grit

    2011:
    The Artist
    Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows-Part 2
    Hugo (winner)
    Midnight in Paris
    War Horse

    2012:
    Anna Karenina
    The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
    Les Miserables
    Life of Pi
    Lincoln (winner)

    2013:
    12 Years a Slave
    American Hustle
    Gravity
    The Great Gatsby (winner)
    Her

    2014:
    The Grand Budapest Hotel (winner)
    The Imitation Game
    Interstellar
    Into the Woods
    Mr. Turner

    2015:
    Bridge of Spies
    The Danish Girl
    Mad Max: Fury Road (winner)
    The Martian
    The Revenant

    2016:
    Arrival
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
    Hail, Caesar!
    La La Land (winner)
    Passengers

What do you think of the nominations? Who should have been nominated? What do you think of the winners? Who would you have voted for?

2010: Inception should had won, although Alice in Wonderland wasn’t a bad choice on this category
    2011: Wery, very well deserved
2012: Weak year, everyone except Life of Pi would be a good choice
    2013: Deserved to won
    2014: Very, very well deserved
    2015: Very, very well deserved
2016: Fantastic Beasts deserved more, but 3L was a good choice

Despite the fact that I did not like Alice in Wonderland very much, I do think it deserved its Best Production Design win.

The wins for Grand Budapest, Hugo, Gatsby and Mad Max were also well-deserved, in my opinion.

In 2012, I would have voted for Life of Pi, and in 2016, The Jungle Book if it had been nominated.

Yup The Handmaiden should’ve been nominated and won.

And yes Her really should’ve won that. The PD added so much to the feel of that movie
