I’m sure there is already a thread but after not seeing anything related to this by page 5, I started a new thread. Obviously.
I don’t know why but I am starting to think the nominees in this category will be
Mahershla (sic, I’m sure) Ali (Moonlight)
Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water)
Hugh Grant (Florence Foster Jenkins)
Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea)
Simon Helberg (Florence Foster Jenkins)
I know everyone is saying Dev Patel, but, Lion does not seem to be very strong on the OScar radar. And the last couple of years Harvey Weinstein has kept a low profile and no longer shoves his films down the voters throats like he once did.
Who do you think will make the cut?
Sorry, but Florence Foster Jenkins is NOT getting two nominations in this category. I’m skeptical it’ll even get one. Ali, Patel, Hedges, Ogata and Bridges sound like a good, diverse five to me.
If any film is getting a double nomination in this category, it’s definetly Hell or High Water.
Ugh please no Dev Patel. He was basically the weakest part of the movie, which is saying a lot because outside of the India scenes, it’s a very weak movie. Give that nomination to the amazing kid if you have to.
