Clarkson gets my vote. Love her. Underrated and undervalued.

Holly Hunter. She was excellent in Thirteen and this makes me hate Renee Zellweger’s win even more. Which reminds me that Evan Rachel Wood should’ve been nominated as well..

Still Team Shohreh! But I’m not mad at Renee’s win at all.

Zellweger is, for me, top 3 of worst Oscar win for acting, ever!

    Aghdashloo is the true winner.

Well, I’m not going with Granny Clampett’s win, but I dont begrudge her for her win.

I still think Laura Linney is far far more impactful than the snivelling perf from Marcia, even though you could miss Laura’s Lady MacBeth if you sneezed.

I’ll go with HofS&F, although that is more an Ensemble vote for me.

I think this is the strongest Best Supporting Actress line up to me that I’ve seen all the nominee for over the years. Everyone is amazing, everyone would have been a deserving win, everyone probably could have won in another year but I think Renee was a deserving winner.

Shohreh Aghdashloo deserved to win but looking back this was an excellent lineup of performances. I would habve been fine with any of the five winning.

Holly Hunter. Easy. Such a beautifully crafted portrait of a troubled yet unconditionally loving mother.

This is a pretty decent category and the Academy obviously chose to award the only undeserving nominee. I went with Marcia Gay Harden.

Decent category, but I agree with those who feel Zellweger was the worst of the lineup.  I would have voted for Holly Hunter in Thirteen but Clarkson, Gay Harden, and Aghdashloo would have made worthy winners as well.

    Personal Ballot:

    Patricia Clarkson, Pieces of April
    Marcia Gay Harden, Mystic River
    Holly Hunter, Thirteen (*)
    Scarlett Johansson, Lost in Translation
    Catherine O’Hara, A Mighty Wind

    Catherine O’Hara

Of the Academy’s nominees, though, Aghdashloo. Though really, anyone but the horrifyingly bad Zellweger works.
