How in the world is this even a contest?!?

(though my vote, for Penn, doesn’t appear to have registered)

This is legit because it can go either way. Critically, it’s Sean, but if you look at who makes the studios money, it’s Will.

In that case, yes, but I always assumed that “Better filmography” meant deciding which was better at choosing quality projects.

In that case, I’d have to say it’s Penn without a shadow of a doubt. Smith has got a great force of personality, but Penn’s resume is padded to the brim with eclectic choices from various genres.

I get that, but my response was more to the snob mindset these things usually generate. Like, obviously this poster is serious with this posting. And each of those films mention, and the ones that are not, does make one think. Wwll, at least me anyways.

My thoughts exactly. Whilst I don’t mind Will Smith, Sean Penn in on another level altogether.

Smith has done anything to the level of Dead Man Walking, Carlito’s Way, Milk, The Falcon and the Snowman, Casualties of War, etc

Lol. I like Will and I even like his son, and wife.

Will he get any votes in this poll? Let me check after I hit, “Penn”.

I voted for Will, because while I’ve only recently seen most of Penn’s filmography and found myself slightly underwhelmed by the two-time Oscar winner, I’ve grown up with Smith. I have such fond memories of going to see his films in the theatre with my friends, and even when they weren’t necessarily good films, Smith was fun to watch, made them worth watching, and his charismatic personality was something I actually was somewhat able to identify with. This is all personal stuff, and I’m fine with other people not picking him, especially because of his recent stuff and his attempts to force his son down America’s throat, but I have to go with what really affected me.
