It’s an easy one.
I really loved some of Jolie’s performances, but Roberts has several iconic and worthy performances.January 22, 2015 at 7:38 am #175431
I loved Julia in Seabiscuit.January 22, 2015 at 7:43 am #175432
O geez, I dunno.
I dont think I’ve ever “loved” a Roberts’ performance the way I did Jolie’s Gia….but that is about their perfs.
America’s now middle-aged sweetheart has an impressive resume where the monies continued pouring in. But some of her films er, arent what I’d call good.
Jolie has some divisive films as well, and one or two with horrible reviews.
Better filmography? Gach. I’ll go with Roberts based on longetivity. Lol.January 22, 2015 at 7:51 am #175433
Jolie has the worst filmography for a beloved international movie star ever. Worst than Will Smith’s.January 22, 2015 at 9:49 am #175434
Easy call- Julia. I can’t think of a single Jolie movie I’d want to watch twice. She has abominable taste in scripts.January 22, 2015 at 10:03 am #175435
(Slightly offtopic) Do these as well Beyonce-
Maggie Smith vs. Judi Dench
Tilda Swinton vs. Cate Blanchett
Hugh Jackman vs. Russell Crowe
Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Renee Zellweger
Tom Hanks vs. Tom Cruise
Bradley Cooper vs. Jake Gyllenhaal
Emma Thompson vs. Julianne Moore
Emily Blunt vs. Rachel McAdams
Johnny Depp vs. Jim CarreyJanuary 22, 2015 at 3:14 pm #175436
I don’t like neither. But at least Roberts have a couple of films I like and then Closer. Jolie otherwise… none.January 22, 2015 at 8:20 pm #175437
Jolie. Stunned that Julia is winning by such a large margin.January 22, 2015 at 9:03 pm #175438
Actors all do it, but Jolie has pretty much made a career out of doing crap films for the paycheck.January 23, 2015 at 1:09 pm #175439
Julia. she is a much better actress as wellJanuary 23, 2015 at 1:15 pm #175440
Jolie. Stunned that Julia is winning by such a large margin.
I don’t think it’s that stunning. Jolie is a pretty great presence, but I can’t say that too many of her projects are that memorable in and of themselves. Even her Oscar-winning film isn’t that *great*. She just elevates it.January 23, 2015 at 2:11 pm #175441
JULIA. Not even a proper match-up.January 23, 2015 at 2:12 pm #175442
I went with Jolie.January 23, 2015 at 2:18 pm #175443
Jolie without any doubt. I can’t think of a single Julia Roberts film I could sit through without wanting to rip my eyes out and my ears off at the opening credits, whereas with Jolie I can watch: Girl, Interrupted, Salt, The Bone Collector, and Mr & Mrs Smith quite a few times.
