I’m going for Johansson because she is more versatile than Knightley – action, thriller, drama, she can nail them all. Knightley seems to be a bit typecast for her roles in period films even though I know she has done a lot more than that.December 12, 2014 at 3:47 am #169153
As much as I like Keira but I have to go with Scarlet because she has a variety of roles that are very different from each another! But Keira really does nail those corset like ain’t nobody else’s problem.December 12, 2014 at 8:52 am #169154
Yes well, SJ had been disappointing me with each new endeavor of hers since Ghost World. Her last three films however, have resurrected her from my viewpoint.
Keira, who appears to have ‘fans’, I’ve never, EVER been a fan of. She bugs me soooo much.
I didnt mind her in Silk, mostly because she said almost nothing, and looked appropriately serene.
I’ll go with Scarlet. Her filmography is far more my style and she’s not exactly the same in ever single freaking film.

I went with SJ. I do like Keira Knightley but I feel that she tends to typecast herself in period pieces. I love how nowadays, Johansson manages to mix both commercial fare (Marvel franchise, Lucy) alongside smaller films where she is able to take risks.December 12, 2014 at 2:54 pm #169156
how on earth is SJ not the same in every single film? she’s a far more limited actress than Keira, imo. At least Keira has some energy and spirit- Scarlett has been cast as kind of a robot in her last few movies, and people say that’s the best she’s ever been, because she doesn’t really have to emote, lol.December 12, 2014 at 5:01 pm #169157

Even though I sided with SJ, I can see your point. Match Point, that is. Neither of these actors are amongst my favorites, that’s for sure. But SJ for me has never, outright “stank” or made me guffaw in any of her films. And in Ghost World, I’d have given her some kind of citation for break through.
I could cut up Knightley pretty severely here if my heart were into it. Lol. Nice under-bite Keira. No need to use it as an acting prop though, is it?
