Woody Allen’s next film, due in theaters July 26, 2013, gets its first poster and plot details revealed.

A woman (Cate Blanchett) struggles to adapt to common middle-class life after her husband (Alec Baldwin) is imprisoned for a money theft scheme, supposedly based on the Madoff family. Blanchett and Baldwin supposedly have very meaty roles.

Surprised to see no trailer yet.

    First poster is at IMDb.

I thought C.K. said his role was small. He gets third billing in the poster. Or maybe he just meant it was smaller in comparison to the role Woody wanted him to do? Could it be that Woody wanted C.K. for Baldwin’s role?

They are listed alphabetically, so the placement looks like it has nothing to do with size of the role

Yeah, that’s was silly of me, for some reason when I looked at it, I thought Blanchett’s name was above Baldwin’s, but it’s the other way around, you’re right.

Initially CK auditioned for the Dice Clay role but Allen saw him as too nice for the character and cast him elsewhere.

I’ve heard from some people who’ve seen it that this movie is phenomenal, and from some people that it’s another “Melinda & Melinda” (bad Allen).  I didn’t even know until recently it was a Woody Allen.

Wow. Louie has really boosted C.K.’s career, hasn’t it? Russell, now Allen. Next thing you know, he’s being cast in a Scorsese film.

For me “bad Allen” is worthy enough to watch it and I was actually underwhelmed by “Midnight in Paris”. It looks like Alec Baldwin got along with him, right? It might be Cate Blanchett’s best role since “I’m Not There”.

Anything he does I’ll see but it’s kinda hard to top “Midnight in Paris” at this point in my opinion.

I see all his films, but I don’t think he’s risen above mediocity since Hannah and His Sisters nearly 3 decades ago.

To Rome With Love for me was possibly the worst film from a supposed acclaimed director last year other than Les Miserables. Just about the nadir of his career.

Really? That was 1986. You really think he didn’t do anything great in the 90s?

Mighty Aprohdite was great, IMO. You hated that, too? Not even Crimes and Misdemeanors, his best film of the ’80s?

Saying something is mediocre doesn’t remotely indicate hatred. Not sure where that very common concept here comes from.

I thought MA had a few funny moments, not as stale as some of his films, but mediocre.

Crimes and Misdemeanors makes my skin crawl.
