In other news. It now looks like SPC has woken from its deep slumber and actually started FYC campaigns focused mainly on Timmy.

    this one was on nytimes

and this was on variety & hollywood reporter

Can this change the tide in his favour now ? With him charming people left and right in the Oscars Luncheon. Or does this just change the fact that oldman isn’t probably winning in a landslide.

YASSSS!!! Finally SPC is doing something, after all this I think Chalamet has bigger chances but Oldman is still the front runner

Armie Hammer’s new interview for InStyle is out, and there’s an excerpt available at this link, which I found interesting:

    http://www.mynewplaidpants.com/2018/02/lofficiel-armie.html

Here it is for those who don’t want the link:

“I mean, at the end of the day—to be crass—we made a movie where a dude fucks a piece of fruit and then another guy eats it. So, I was like, ‘Maybe no one will see this. This might be something that American audiences will not accept.’ And that just hasn’t been the case, because people love to see a movie that’s just a celebration of love. And one thing Luca did, in all of his genius, was to boil all of this down to the most elemental human emotions, where anyone, regardless of their orientation or identification, can remember the first time they felt that way.”

I just had the blogger chastise me for “nit-picking” the fact that, actually, this is not the movie they made at all, but it led me to this question: Should I cut Mr. Hammer some slack because it’s an interview and this is probably off-the-cuff, OR, does Mr. Hammer ACTUALLY believe this is, indeed, the movie they made?

Semantics alone, licking some jizz off a peach does not constitute the eating of one.

It just seemed like a much more extreme way of putting it, and needlessly so, when the movie they made, in fact, is much more subtle and less flagrant about that aspect of their relationship to begin with.

Mr. Hammer’s admitted to being into bondage before, but maybe it’s the Barnes & Noble bondage, akin Fifty Shades, and not real, honest-to-goodness kink.  Maybe licking the jizz equates peach-eating to him.

I don’t know, just curious if anyone else finds it interesting he said it that way when they very obviously did no such thing in the finished product.

    It’s a teacher-work day, so I’m off-duty, bear with me.  lol

I for one did not see Oliver lick or eat the peach in the movie. Elio asked him not to so he didn’t. In the book he did.

I have my feet on the ground, but Chalamet won Actor of the Year at the London Critics Circle and Oldman couldn’t even win British Actor… so it tells me Timothee has a shot at Bafta…

I hope he does. Oldman was never doing very well with critics though. Bafta isn’t a critics association and I just can’t see them not rewarding the British actor playing Winston Churchill.

I can respond with two observations:

    1. I have heard that they shot at least one take of that scene where Oliver eats the peach, as in the book. That take was not included in the film, but it’s possible it was at least on the table as an option. Or I’ve been misinformed, which happens more often than not.

    2. I don’t think Armie Hammer knows his Twitter and Instagram likes are public, because they confirm to us that his kinks are very much the real deal.

2a. Seriously, just Google “Armie Hammer ropes” or whatever. You’re in for a treat.

He licked something from the peach.

That’s not what I saw. It never got that close to his mouth. Maybe I am wrong though but pretty sure. Elio was so hysterical.

Now that’s got me thinking twice about his and Timothee’s relationship.

He sticks his finger into the peach and puts the finger in his mouth.
