    Well…

I guess all I have left to ask is how someone with such proclivities is still such a prude about full frontal nudity.

    Haha!

I actually read a post that CMBYN was a fill in to finish up the Oscar nominees. That’s pretty funny. Obviously that person hasn’t seen or paid much attention to the success it has had this award season. When your wrong your wrong 🙂

In other news. It now looks like SPC has woken from its deep slumber and actually started FYC campaigns focused mainly on Timmy.

    this one was on nytimes

and this was on variety & hollywood reporter

Can this change the tide in his favour now ? With him charming people left and right in the Oscars Luncheon. Or does this just change the fact that oldman isn’t probably winning in a landslide.

    Nice, good to see.

I heard rumors that SPC was thinking about effectively conceding Best Actor to Oldman, so it’s nice to see that they’re still at least trying. I don’t know if they can turn it around in time, but they can tighten up the vote. And Chalamet will do his part by just being his charming self.

I still have no clue why this movie did not get more Oscar noms. Director, cinematography, supporting actor and even two songs for best song. Visions of Gideon is a beautiful piece of music.

Those dumb asses, no wonder they didnt put any effort for SAG. IMO that was the one they needed to TRY for. This last minute hoorah will only make Chalamet lose to a lower margin. Well i hope they atleast told chalamet about thier honest plans. Rather making him hope.

Herd mentality and the sentiment of rewarding someone for a career of good work would suggest Oldman will win; even though personally I think his showy performance is not as good as Meryl Streep’s winning performance as Thatcher in Iron Lady.
I do see a path for Chalamet to win. With the new found appreciation of Daniel Day-Lewis’s role in Phantom Thread; he potentially could take away some votes from Oldman. Also with all the wife abuse story in the news lately; Oldman’s own wife abuse history could influence some of the voters’ consdideration.
Just like Moonlight’s surprise win last year, I could see a surprise for the best actor announcement on Mar 4. Especially if Chalamet were to win BAFTA this Sunday.

No doubt in my mind that this film was not promoted because of Elio’s age. Hard to say what would have happened if Elio was 18 and someone a little younger that Armie had played Oliver.
I think the film has actually picked up some momentum as it has continued to win some awards for Best Film. It seemed like it had been rated in the 6 to 7 area. I def think it has elevated back into the top 5. If it would win Bafta I would be thrilled. Although 3B and THOW are good films I do not think either is a classic. Voting starts after Bafta. Things could change. I feel momentum for Get Out and CMBYN. These two films are both films that will be remembered years from now.

I love this film so much, but I still don’t really like that they cast Armie Hammer. He just looks way too old for the role he played. But I struggle to think of a younger actor who could’ve done the part.

Timothee was absolutely outstanding, and in a better world CMBYN’s one Oscar win would be for Best Actor, rather than Adapted Screenplay. But I’m still thrilled by the prospect of James Ivory finally getting his due.

I have a feeling that we’ll spend the next 50 years saying “Chalamet should’ve won for Call Me By Your Name” no matter how great he is in future roles, even if he ends up winning multiple Oscars someday…

THIS. If CMBYN were to win for Timothee and Adapted Screenplay went to Logan, it would be a dream come true x2 for me!

For some reason I can see Robert Pattison or Dave Franco pulling off a mid twenties look and a possible Oliver. Even Armie’s size and height were over whelming for Timothee. Maybe Zach Efron 🙂 Saying that I thought Armie and Timothee we’re awesome.

Omg. I just looked it up and Dave Franco is a year older than Armie Hammer. Mind entirely blown. HOW.

I was thinking someone more along the lines of Alden Ehrenreich, Taron Egerton, Xavier Dolan, or Harris Dickinson for the Oliver role, but none of them would’ve been available at the time of filming anyways.

Timothee and Armie have great chemistry together, at any rate. Doesn’t change how big and old Armie looks on screen, though. Lol

Lol, Zac Efron? Thank God, he was no where near this. I love Hammer as Oliver, couldn’t imagine someone else playing him so well. This film is perfect as it is.
