Im rooting for Hardy to be swept in the Mad Max/ Revenant wins and win for sup actor. His nom itself was a surprise and could produce a win for his work in the last few years. Also with all these shoutouts from Leo and Inarritu could give Oscar voters a second guess to vote him.

I keep going on about how people need to watch out for Hardy. Remember Binoche winning over Bacall? Younger star getting swept in with the love of the Best Picture winner over sentimental favorite?

That would be fun. Anyone but Stallone!

I want this to happen, just for the sake of shock value and Academy proving that they still have their own minds and they don’t always go with the flow. Come on. Our last surprise in acting categories was Meryl Streep in 2011.

Juliette Binoche won stuff, like BAFTA and had nominations. Tom Hardy wasn’t even nominated.

I certainly don’t believe Sta)one deserves to win, but there is no reasonable alternative. Anything could happen, it just isn’t likely.

And not even that very much.

Tom Hardy is my second favourite in this category after Mark Rylance, so I’d be quite supportive if he upset here. In the early scenes of The Revenant he almost outperforms DiCaprio.

Still predicting Stallone though. Regardless of the narrative, his name jumps out on a ballot; this could have quite a strong psychological effect on an unconfident voter. (I’m thinking of when Precious pulled off an upset in Adapted Screenplay, possibly for having the subtitle “Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” printed on every ballot. It’s ADAPTED, you see!)

The BAFTA didn’t help Binoche though, because the BAFTA ceremony came after the Oscars back then. A whole month after, in fact.

Tom Hardy was fantastic in The Revenant. I would love for him to surprise everyone with a Best Supporting Actor win.

Tom Hardy winning would be like Marisa Tomei or Marcia Gay Harden wins.

Hardy has the best chance for upset but he’ll finish distant second to Stallone

I’d cry with delight if that happened.  Hardy is the only supporting actor nominee 100% deserving IMO.

Stallone is good…ok but academy voters don’t let that fool you just because he hasn’t been good in years and all.  Also, any voter who votes Stallone with the whole iconic Rocky BS as one of the reasons should get the shit slapped out of them.  Stupid reason!!!

I’m sure Rylance is playing his character as it’s written, but let’s face it folks it’s not all that special.

Ruffalo is one of my favorite actors period, but the ticks!!! OMG the ticks in SPOTLIGHT!!!

Bale… I don’t know what to say, but no.
