It opens October 16, 2015:
“In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.”
Written and directed by Guillermo Del Toro.December 18, 2014 at 12:17 pm #169789
I got to be an extra for this film when they filmed a scene near my university! For that reason alone, I’m excited to see it.

If Iñarritu wins director this year and del Toro wins next year, then the three amigos will have won in a row.December 20, 2014 at 5:03 pm #169791
This looks like a major favorite for next years. Can’t freaking wait for it.
I wonder if this could be what Pan’s tried to be, but didn’t manage . And I am not saying this to cause a riot here, just my opinion.December 20, 2014 at 5:37 pm #169792
You mean will it be the best movie of this decade instead of merely being in the top five movies of 00-’09 like ‘Pan’s? I guess we’ll see.December 20, 2014 at 7:51 pm #169793
IMDb classifies this as a horror film, and del Toro has said that it’s a ghost story.
Should be interesting to see how the Academy reacts.December 21, 2014 at 5:57 pm #169794

I meant it will win something besides some tech awards , couldn’t even win BFLP c’mon, you giving this much thought to scores now? oki then.December 21, 2014 at 7:12 pm #169795
I’m just happy to see Tom Hiddleston back on the big screen again. With this and I Saw The Light, it’s shaping up to be a good year for him,December 21, 2014 at 8:55 pm #169796
Is there ANY reason at all why we should consider this for even a second as a awards contender and not next years MAMA?
Btw, hopefully this is a much (MUCH) better Del Toro-Chastain horror colaboration, cause the last one was horribly dissapointing.December 21, 2014 at 9:04 pm #169797
In my opinion Chastain has been the Queen of Actresses in hollywood since 2011…… The amount of good work she is getting is astounding. Can’t wait for this one.February 13, 2015 at 1:41 pm #169799
First trailer is out!
Seems like a good bet in Costume Design and Make Up/Hairstyling.February 13, 2015 at 2:02 pm #169800
I am finding the screenplay writers to be very intriguing. Along with del Toro, I’m happy to see Matthew Robbins. I’ve seen his films both as a director and a writer. This guy wrote Sugarland Express, so he’s worked with Spielberg at least three times, and also Joseph Sargent.
I look at this as a good sign.February 13, 2015 at 2:48 pm #169801
That trailer is GORGEOUS. And the cast! Hiddleston, Chastain, Wasikowska, and even Hunnam. The costumes, makeup, set design, and cinematography all look outstanding. And the October release date is both Halloween and Oscar friendly. If this gets close to ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ level reviews (98 on Metacritic), I think we might see the trifecta of the Three Amigos.
