This is a Proposal & Idea to the Studio who own the rights.
The Genesis was Today’s Matt Lauer recent interview of Meryl Streep where she said in reaction to a sequel for Devil Wears Prada “….No Script, No New Movie ….”
The Attraction is the Very Huge Cult Following of the film who might have Brilliant Ideas for a Sequel.
It may or may not be based from the Sequel Book — Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. The original was a big departure from the book anyway.
The Ultimate Judge will be Meryl Streep who will then be committed to film it. This is simply taking on her challenge anyway.
All these will be in commemoration for its 10th Anniversary come June 30, 2016.
No sequels for Meryl.
No sequels for Meryl.
Is that a Secret Streep Rule ???
Streep has not ruled out completely a sequel for Prada. Apart from Matt Lauer, Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson interviewed Streep during Viola Davis’ Women in Film Crystal Awards in 2012 and said ” …she need to lose the fucking weight …”.
Emily Blunt already expressed eagerness and I presume both Anne Hathaway & Stanley Tucci are on board.
Possibly, Tom Rothman now with Sony TriStar can take cue. Rothman slotted Ricki and The Flash the same release sked as Prada end June 2015.

On a potential sequel to the 2006 film, the actress replied: “Wouldn’t that be fun? I’d love to do that but I don’t know if there is any plan for it.”
She also recalled how Streep greeted her on set before getting into character for the duration of the film shoot.
“She’s fun and super maternal,” Hathaway said. “When I met her she gave me a huge hug and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, we are going to have the best time on this movie’, and then she’s like, ‘Ah sweetie, that’s the last time I’m nice to you’.

“She then went into her trailer and came out the ice queen and that was really the last I saw of ‘Meryl’ for months, until we promoted the film.”
In The Devil Wears Prada, Hathaway played Andy Sachs, a young woman who moves to New York and lands a job as the assistant to one of the city’s most notorious magazine editors, Miranda Priestly (Streep).
The Graham Norton Show airs tonight (October 31) at 10.35pm on BBC One.
