Every year it seems like there is at least one or two films that seemed tailor made for the Oscars and on paper look like they will be huge threats to the season, but come nomination morning these films receive only a handful of nominations or none at all. Some that come to mind from the past few years are Silence, Unbroken, Selma, and Nocturnal Animals. What are some other films that seemed destined for the Oscars, but ultimately didn’t really show up? Either this year or in previous years.
