I was at the library recently (A library is a public institution where you can borrow books for free), and I saw the Pendragon series by D.J. McHale, I’m not sure if anyone’s familiar with those books, but back in the yesteryears, I loved reading those books. I’m sort of shocked that there hasn’t been any attempts at this marvelous series (a la Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson..)
So If you were to pick any series/books to make movies, which would you pick?
Looking at IMDb, McHale seems to have worked extensively in TV and cable, with both originals and adaptations, so he likely has had his opportunities, but just not seemed to have the heft for the limited interests of theatrical movies these days.
Ian Rankin’s Inspector Rebus mysteries (set in Edinburgh) are my favorites series of recent decades, and had a brief British TV run, but I always wished they could have been made for theatrical release.
ten books come to mind off the bat:
1)Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
2)The Distant Hours by Kate Morton
3)Canada by Ruchard Ford
4)The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
6)Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris
7) The Night Circus
8) The House at Riverton
9)Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher
10) The Lost Symbol
