Chris Beachum and I try very hard to be as exhaustive and comperehensive as possible in giving options for our awards, but we don’t have the ability to include every possible contender from every possible film.

But knowing there are inevitable oversights, I would like to try to accommodate as many requests as possible for adding candidates. But only within the following guidelines, or else it might be prohibitively difficult for me to do so:

    1. Request up to five (5) missing candidates you’d like me to add as options for voting. If you’d like any one film added to multiple categories, that’s fine, but remmeber that actors, directors, and songs are SEPARATE candidates.

    2. Only request candidates you personally intend to vote for (or at least are strongly considering if you haven’t made your final decisions yet). Requests saying, “If X is an option, than these 20 candidates should be included too,” will be ignored. If there’s a missing candidate and no one requests them who actually plans to vote for them, chances are they don’t have a chance anyway.

    3. Send your requests to me through Private Message. Allow two days for me to address your request. If I haven’t responded in that time, please try again, or leave your requests in this thread. But a PM will be the best way to reach me, so please only use this thread if your PMs aren’t going through.

    Sample request:

    Could you please add:

    – “Something or Other: The Joe Blow Story” (Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Editing, and Production Design)

    – John Doe, “Something or Other: The Joe Blow Story” (Actor, Breakthrough Performer)

    – Jane Doe, “A Different Movie” (Supporting Actress)

    – “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Even Louder” (Score, Sound, Visual Effects)

    – “Le Foreign Film” (Foreign Film)

Ugh. I just noticed that too. It wasn’t going through, but apparently it was going through over and over again. Sory about that. I’ll clean it up.

As I field requests, I’ll post updates in this thread about candidates that are newly available to predict, so everyone has a chance to vote for them, and so that I don’t receive duplicate requests.

Daniel – The Babadook is not eligible for the Oscars and does not need to be in the predictions center.

Thanks for opening this thread, by the way!

Even if it’s not eligible for Oscars, it had a US theatrical release in 2014 and has been considered at a number of year-end awards, including New York Film Critics Circle and Critics’ Choice, so it’s welcome at the Gold Derby Film Awards.

^Totally didn’t even seen that this was for the GD Film Awards. My bad reading skills. Thought this was for the Oscars.
