I still believe that Boyhood will win the Oscar. Benjamin Button had the most (13) nominations and Slumdog Millionare won. The lack of an editing nomination for BIrdman and a lack of a Best Director nomination for American Sniper certainly help Boyhood’s chances. Boyhood is also the best of these 8 films, and that should count for something too! (:January 27, 2015 at 7:21 pm #176137
I can’t honestly believe the Academy will have the balls to f*** up one of their easiest decisions to make ever. It’s so obvious what the movie of the year is, what talent has finally payed his dues and deserves to be recognized etc… So I’m sticking with Boyhood unless it loses both DGA and BAFTA. I hope to God it doesn’t.January 27, 2015 at 7:24 pm #176138
That’s easy. The film that is 2/2 in guilds thus far: Birdman. But the race is not over yet.January 27, 2015 at 7:27 pm #176139
Birdman is currently out front, but I expect Boyhood will bounce back with Richard Linklater winning DGA. Unless he doesn’t. Then Birdman is still the favorite.January 27, 2015 at 7:36 pm #176140

I liked what Marcus said about trusting PGA this year. They gave The Lego Movie and Life Itself top honors and they aren’t even at the Oscars. So I’m a bit hesitant to trust PGAJanuary 27, 2015 at 8:10 pm #176143
Thanks for the shout-out Kyle!

That’s the kicker. PGA has an astonishing correlation to BP. But I’m going against the odds and sticking with Boyhood.January 27, 2015 at 8:14 pm #176145

Boyhood by farJanuary 27, 2015 at 11:16 pm #176147
I remember the day I saw Boyhood in July. I was touched as I never had been before. I can understand people who didn’t like it but don’t say it’s just a gimmick. That’s unfair. It’s so authentic.
I don’t know If the Academy Will recognize this Movie but even if it does not win BP, this Movie Will stay in my heart, for sureJanuary 28, 2015 at 1:45 am #176148
I’m still sticking with Boyhood.January 28, 2015 at 6:15 am #176149
I know I’m gonna get a lot of heat for this but Boyhood doesn’t deserve best picture. I love it dearly its one of my personal favorites of the year but it doesn’t deserve BP. Technically the film out front is Birdman. Birdman won at PGA and SAG. Both which are key predecessors to win best picture. If Birdman wins at DGA then it’s over. And I don’t think Boyhood will win at BAFTA. Believe it or not I’m going with Budapest at BAFTA. So for me it all really just comes down to who wins the DGA.
