Great job on the picks. I personally think Meryl should be in Lead and not Supporting, but that’s me.

I would add Emily Blunt for Into the Woods in both Lead and Supporting. Who knows what this movie is going to do with her.July 25, 2014 at 4:02 pm #156827
Rosemund Pike should be removed from supporting and put in Lead. It’s not a go either way role, she is 100% lead. Don’t judge the role by the trailer…
Same thing with Bill Murray but on his case there is 0 excuse for the supporting placement.July 25, 2014 at 4:14 pm #156828
Great! Keep telling us about issues like this. Next week I’ll be chatting with all of the Oscar consultants and I can get firm answers to your questions about category placement, etc.July 25, 2014 at 4:42 pm #156829
Why is this happening so early? Every year Oscar discussions come earlier and earlier like Christmas season in the stores and It’s a little overwhelming, haha.July 25, 2014 at 7:24 pm #156830
^ It’s never too early 😀

Rosamund Pike is not a supporting contender. That would be even more of a fraud than Julia Roberts last year.July 26, 2014 at 3:52 am #156833
I wonder if Katherine Waterston will be campaigned in Lead or Supporting for Inherent Vice – in the book, she could be either. Could you find out, Tom?July 26, 2014 at 4:00 am #156834
Nice to see my gurl Cammie D. here. I know she looked hammy as fuck in the first trailer but I have a feeling they’ve shown us only her big moments there. From what I’ve heard it’s not that much over the top role as trailers seem it to be. She even has some quiet and pretty subtle scenes. Ugh, I’m such a shameless fangirl…July 26, 2014 at 5:19 am #156835
Oprah Winfrey for supporting actress for SelmaJuly 26, 2014 at 6:28 am #156836
BEST ACTRESS: Where are Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Meryl Streep (Into the Woods), Michelle Williams (Suite Française)…? And Nicole Kidman (Queen of the Desert)!July 26, 2014 at 7:56 am #156837

I’ve heard that Queen of the Desert won’t be released at least until march 2015.July 26, 2014 at 8:09 am #156838
I’d like to see Tom Hardy added as an option for Locke. Maybe it’s remote, but at least we’ve seen the performance, and it’s fantastic. I would certainly put him in my top 3 so far.
