I am upset that Streisand didn’t get in and thay Tommy lee jones didnt get in for hope springs.

I saw Salmon fishing in the yemen a while ago and the only nomination this film should have received was for Ewan Mcgregor. Emily (IMO) wasn’t even the lead. She was more supporting. Anyway here are my predicted winners so far

Best Actress – Meryl Streep ( Spoiler, Maggie Smith ) I’m glad that Judi got nominated.

Best Actor – Hugh Jackman ( Spoiler, Bill Murray )

Best comedy movie – Les Miserables ( Spoler, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel )

Comedy tv actress – Amy Poehler ( Spoiler, Julia Louis Dreyfus ) AMY BETTER WIN CAUSE SHE HAS BEEN SNUBBED FOR SO MANY OTHER AWARDS!!!!! Even though Julia is amazing on her show as well.

Comedy tv Actor – Matt Leblanc ( Spoiler, Alec Baldwin )

Comedy tv show – Smash ( Spoler, Modern Family……. ughhhhh )

Laactingnyc-You are missing the biggest contender in the category Silver Linings Playbook, which will take Best Actress, Meryl will not win this year.  SLP could even beat Les Mis.  Jackman and Cooper are in a dead heat as well.  SLP (while not my favorite film) is a major major contender.

Best Comedy or Musical-Les Mis (SLP spoiler)

In (recent years) 1996 Evita won this award starting a trend that musicals had a strong hold over this category.  Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Walk the Line (in a way), Dreamgirls, and Sweeney Todd won this award.  The only musical which lost Phantom of the Opera, Nine had terrible reviews and would have been seen as a joke or Hairspray which was up against Sweeney Todd.  Les Mis is a major player and will win this award.

Best Comedy or Musical Actor-Jackman vs. Cooper

Tough to pick, Jackman’s singing is when he shines best (as an actor), but Cooper is getting a lot of strong attention, and rightfully so, at the moment I am picking Jackman, but Cooper has a strong shot.

Best Comedy or Musical Actress-Jennifer Lawrence

    In a cake walk!

Wow, I totally thought this specific category would be a total trainwreck, but this is an incredible lineup! I never heard of Salmon Fishing, but the rest of the films are great.

Comedy Actress: With the exception of Blunt, the other four are my absolute favorite actresses! Dames Streep, Dench, Smith and the very lovely Jennifer Lawrence.
Should and Will Win: Jennifer Lawrence. (Biggest lock of any of the categories.)

Comedy Actor: Very sad Tommy Lee Jones was snubbed for Hope Springs, when he was seriously the best. Though he’s already nominated in supporting so its fine. Laughing at all of you who thought Channing Tatum’s crap performance would be recognized here! They do have their limits. Any who its definitely between Cooper and Jackman. I will give the edge to Jackman, since his performance has a lot more do than Cooper’s and the Globes love giving this award to very theatrical and musical performances. Especially someone as marvelous as Mr. Jackman himself. Hell maybe there will be tie, but whatever; both will make it into the final lineup and end up losing to Daniel Day Lewis or Denzel Washington.

I think SLP win Best Actor and Best Actress. I think Harvey already showed his power by getting HFPA to boost Django’s chances from zero to contender and with Hooper mssing best director, despite thier affection for musicals, along with weak reviews, I think the HFPA will want to back a winner.

Lawrence is, easily, the most predictable win in the next year GG’s (alongside with Moore in Lead Actress TV/Mini). I still think Les Mis will be a hit and will get Movie and Actor.

    Best Picture
Les Miserables is going to be a brilliant movie and the HFPA are going to duely award it

My lineup (in probability of winning)

    1. Les Miserables
    2. Silver Linings Playbook
    3. Moonrise Kingdom
    4. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
    5. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

    Best Actor

I think it will be Jackman for these reasons:

    1. He’s in the film version of one of the most famous musicals of all time
    2. He’s a beloved, versatile star who can seamlessly switch between action and comedy and musical
    3. He’s an Australian actor playing a French character – if this doesn’t make the Hollywood FOREIGN Press Association’s heart stop beating, nothing will

So here’s my lineup (in order of probability to win)

    1. Hugh Jackman – Les Miserables
    2. Bradley Cooper – Silver Linings Playbook
    3. Bill Murray – Hyde Park on Hudson
    4. Jack Black – Bernie
    5. Ewan McGregor – Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

    Best Actress

I honestly don’t see the buzz for Lawrence. She’s a fine actress, but the other nominees (even Blunt) are more deserving. However, one can’t ignore Lawrence and despite me being majorly against this win, I have to predict her for the win. I just hope someone like Riva, Chastain or Cottilard win the Oscar. However, they could give the win to Dench to recognize her work in BEMH and Skyfall

Here’s my lineup (in order of probability to win)

    1. Jennifer Lawrence – Silver Linings Playbook
    2. Maggie Smith – Quartet
    3. Judi Dench – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
    4. Meryl Streep – Hope Springs
    5. Emily Blunt – Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

My winner for this prize is either Les Miserables or Silver Linings Playbook. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen was an unknown film until Thursday, and people are just beginning to see it.
