It’s funny how 12 Years a Slave can actually win a Picture award but feel like it has weakened a bit. I can’t wait for the guilds. They could go so many different ways this year.

Can’t wait to see all of the “I told you so’s” here (Tom for Brookly Nine Nine, Marcus for Breaking Bad, Daniel for hinting at Bisset, Boomer for, well, everything TV related). It was a weird telecast, but I think just about every one of the editors contributed something great as far as analysis.

Please go easy on Rob. He’s playing with his heart! He can’t help himself.

Leonardo gave a great speech.  I want him on that Oscar stage if Dern sentiment doesn’t pick up.  Sorry McConaughey.

I got some very difficult TV categories right (Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Bryan Cranston, Jon Voight) and missed some by having the winner in second place (Brooklyn, Breaking, Moss, Bisset).

yeah, what does it mean that 12YAS win Picture and nothing else? does this help it or hurt it? the last movie to do that was Babel, i think. and there was certainly a LOT of love for American Hustle, which is certain to show itself in the guilds. i’m a little perplexed as to what this does for the movie. i’m wondering if maybe mcqueen can pull off director as a consolation prize if the Oscar voters feel like they have to give it something big- they’ve certainly pulled that move before. of course, cuaron would be snubbed in that case, but i’m thinking there will be some heavy pressure to reward 12 Years in a major category, even if they don’t want to give it Picture

This was a weird year for the TV categories. I also got a pulverized result.

I wish I had followed through with hunch that Brooklyn was gonna win. Everything was indicating that win. But I had to go with Girls… That was a poor decision.

I also think we need to remember this year’s TBBT predictions all over the place. I think the show is performing in the globes in a way that’s very similar to Friends and Will & Grace: always nominated for Series, but never wins.

Really and truly, I’m tickled pink by the results of the film awards. With the exception of 12 YAS beating Gravity, everything I wanted to win won, and I was especially happy to see McConaughey, Leo, and Amy pick up awards. Hoping that boosts their traction for nominations.

Very, very happy with all the results. This will repeat for the Oscars, (except Jennifer, duh)

10/14; the four I missed were my second choice (Adams, The Great Beauty, McConaughey, and DIcaprio)

Oscar nomination voting ended on the 8th. Globe wins have no influence.
