As some of you know, I am a HUGE horror genre fan and have been in the process of cultivating my own awards strictly for the horror genre.  They have been in existance for six years now and it is my goal to make them the “Oscars of Horror.”   I have established a committee of genre bloggers, directors, actors, writers, and fans to select the nominations and winners.

I have been thrilled at the reception the awards have received.  They have led to me conducting interviews with nominated actors/actresses and directors and I am THRILLED to announced the awards will be presented LIVE in 2013 from New Orleans!

Anyway, the 2012 Nominations have been announced.  The Cabin in the Woods leads with 10 nominations.

Please take a minute to check out the nomintations and site via the link below.

    Thanks!

Love that ‘Detention’ has garnered some nominations, severely underrated film.
Hope Fran Kranz wins Best Supporting Actor.

I wasn’t absolutely orgasmic over PROMETHEUS, but I reckon it would or should make any horror lover’s 2012 “best horror movie” list. It certainly made mine; at any rate, it is an absolutely gorgeous film.

Also notable for cinematography were DARK SHADOWS; UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING; and THE WOMAN IN BLACK.

I have a copy of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER which I need to watch, perhaps tonight. Didn’t you care for that one? I also still need to see SILENT HILL: REVELATION (absolutely loved the first one), and, I am embarassed to admit, CABIN IN THE WOODS.

Great set of nominees! I love all of the mentions for ‘Stoker’, and of course, ‘The Conjuring’.
