The Jungle Book was the most overrated film of 2016. Dr. Strange visuals are beyond incredible. It was truly the best visual film I’ve seen.

Someone explain this one to me.

The Jungle Book can be as overrated as anybody wants it to be, but the visual effects were definitely not. The film won this award when it came out months and months before the ceremony. It was also critically adored and people were actually predicting and wishing for it to a Best Picture nominee at one point or another, which should tell you a lot about its position on the race, nobody wished that for Doctor Strange, except maybe our resident Kristen Bell stalker.

And Doctor Strange’s main visual effects draw was already seen and rewarded in Inception many years ago. Not that it wasn’t impressive, but it wasn’t the first time we saw something like it.

The Jungle Book‘s effects were more innovative and important to the story.  Like Ex Machina, it was not abstract green-screen animation; the effects were key to character interactions.

explain something to you. That whole place looked real. The animals looked real. Those weren’t real trees. That wasn’t real fire. Those wolves- not real. The bear. Not real. Sheer Khan. Not real. But it was so good that it all looked real. This movie was a technical masterpiece. It was one live action boy in an entire animated world yet who would know? And if your tryin

    Agreed! With all of it

What we saw in the overrated Jungle Book was nothing new. Adding trees, lakes, animals etc.. is nothing new. The visuals in Dr. Strange we’re far more advanced, took more detailing, and seemed to be much harder to achieve. Dr Strange was miles ahead of Jungle Book when it comes to visuals.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Overrated? How the fuck was it overrated? It was the most criminally underrated movie of all time. Ever. I loved it so much and it should have swept the Oscars. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck this thread is offensive I need it deleted befor I turn into the fucking hulk. Anybody that knows me knows this thread was basically made to make me mad. The Jungle Book was able to create an entire world that seemed real. You know that right? I don’t think your stupid so I’m assuming the reason you though the visual effects weren’t worthy is because they were so good you didn’t realize they were visual effects.

let me explain something to you. And if your trying to tell me it didn’t look real stfu.

Doxtor Strange was great but it was nothing compared to the complex world and detail from the trees to the flawless movement of the moths of the animals in the Jungle Book

You can become hulk all you want. I never back down from anyone… But I do enjoy you on this forum. I’ve watch Jungle Book and was not impressed with anything.

Passengers deserved VFX over Jungle Book. Rogue One deserved VFX over Jungle Book. Star Trek Beyond deserved VFX over Jungle Book. A head-scratcher of a call on a night of honoring mediocrity from the first category to the last and the American TV viewer saying that’s it, we’re done with the Oscars.

    Oh, and GFY, Delicias.

I usually agree with you but this is a very sensitive subject for me lol. You can say something is more advanced doesn’t mean it is. We have seen things similar to the effect in other Jungle Book but nothing ever to such a degree.

Since when do you speak on quality and what mediocrity is. You do not represent the American tv viewer. Almost all people form all walks of life agree the Jungle Book was the most deserving.

I would argue The Jungle Book is among the all-time greatest Visual Effects winners.

I loved the special effects/visual effects in both but I could not get those animals out of my head so I’d imagine a lot of people couldn’t as well. I wish I had those skills

Sorry but Jungle Book could not match the animation.
