I was wondering how much the recent injury of racing legend Michael Schumacher affects the Oscar race for Rush, and Daniel Bruhl in particular.
What do you think? Does the news affect the Oscar race in some circumstances?
Sure it does. Specifically (Rush), who can really say, but speaking personally, whenever I predict FLF’s for example, when there is no clear favorite or when it’s a two-horse race, I look at the economy and global political atmosphere before I make a choice for the win, and so far, I’ve been fairly successful.
Political wins happen all the time.I think, it’s in every case. As for Rush, there are going to be voters out there that are reminded about this film, however directly or marginally, and that is never a bad thing imo.
Do you think Mandela’s death caused Mandela: long walk to freedom get 3 Golden Globe nominations? because no one really saw that coming.
^ It definitely gave the movie more exposure, though all three nominations are richly deserved.
