If a song from Fifty Shades of Grey has to get in because it’s a rather weak year for original songs, and it’s entirely possible considering how successful and admittedly good the soundtrack is, which song do you think has a chance of getting in, or are none of them getting in?

It’s not eligible but, imo, Annie Lennox is the one song which woke me up from this film which pretends to ‘get it’ but doesnt:

“Love Me Like You Do”. I haven’t seen the film, but I kinda hope this one gets in because I like the song and might get to see Ellie Goulding perform at the Oscars. As a Gouldigger, I think that would be absolutely exciting!

“Love Me Like You Do” has better chance to get nominated. Although, “Earned it”, it’s a better written song. Let’s wait until the golden globe nominations to have an idea, maybe both get nominated.

I prefer “Love Me Like You Do”, but “Earned It” seems more their style.

“Love Me Like You Do” is the power ballad to end all power ballads of this era of music. Should be nominated and win. And lolz at “Goulddigger”. That’s fun. “Earned It” grew on me thanks to a remix that is my cardio music.

I would say Salted Wound. Sia is the most critically beloved of the three in terms of industry respect over the years and Grammy noms but she might have a better chance at the Globes with getting in for Bound to You from Burlesque and Opportunity from Annie, both cruddy movies so it would keep the legacy going of Sia getting in for bad movies. And the song is really pretty. Love You Like You Do it too much of a radio hit for the Oscars same issue with See You Again for Furious 7

    I’m predicting “Earned It” only.

“Happy” was a radio hit. Just saying.

Happy was a radio hit 3 months after it was nominated and like 8 months after it was released. Love Me Like You Do was an instant hit

“Earned It” is a song I actually like, and the fact that The Weeknd is one of the biggest stars in America right now should seal the deal. It’s like Pharrell in 2014, he was at his peak, so they nominate him in order for him to perform and draw a large demographic (though “Happy” was still a great song). If they get Wiz khalifa and The weeknd to perform, they will surely get a slight spike in viewership, and the Academy Aards needs it after this year’s trainwreck.

Either “Earned It” or “Love Me Like You Do,” the latter being my preferred song.
