I am posting this topic about the Image Awards for this past year. I am a little annoyed about the uproar of the lack of diversity since the Oscars are not the problem. It is the Entertainment (Cinema and Television) are the culprits to the issue. The Image Awards claim they honor minorities (Sorry I believe everyone human being is “of color” we all a color to our skin) but in my mind they do not. The Image Awards are predominantly (95%) black which does not truly honor minoities. There have been numerous performances by other minorities (Asian, Latino, Native American, and Indian) this past year. Although, they still remain a minority in the industry they were not honored at the Awards show that supposedly honors ALL minorities. It seems like the Image Awards need to diversify themselves as well. Below I have made a list of how the Image Awards could have been which is a lot more diverse. Diversity is not binary (Black and White) it is every race, culture, ethnicites, etc. that is a part of this world.

If Teyonah Parris doesn’t win Best Actress – Motion Picture, I am so done with the NAACP. I don’t need them name checking like they did last year with Taraji. Both of her wins were a joke.
