In order to get a jump on the competition, here’s the official movie thread for the newest Pixar film “Inside Out”. After three underwhelming feature films in Cars 2, Brave and Monsters University (even though I personally loved Brave and MU), it looks like Pixar will bounce back will their next feature film, Inside Out.

Academy Award winning director Pete Docter brings us the story of the emotions inside the mind of a 10-year-old girl named Riley. We watch her journey when her family has to move from their Midwest town to San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions, Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Fear (voiced by Bill Hader), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Disgust (voiced by Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith). These emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they advise her on her everyday life. As Riley struggles to adjust to her new quicky-changing life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues at Headquarters.

    Directed by: Pete Docter
    Co-Directed by: Ronnie del Carmen
    Produced by: Jonas Rivera
Written by: Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve & Josh Cooley
    Story by: Pete Docter
    Music by: Michael Giacchino
    Editing by: Kevin Nolting

I am not sure about the rest of the you, but this sounds like another Pixar winner!

I also personally loved Brave and MU and think history will see them more positively. This is definitely one of Pixar’s most interesting concepts and probably their most ambitious since WALL-E. The cast is PHENOMENAL and perfect for the emotions they appear to be representing. Pete Docter and Michael Arndt are only making me more excited. Highly anticipating this one.

The way this trailer makes me feel all the emotions that I actually fellt when watching other Pixar films is amazing. I was already totally excited for this, and this just makes it that much more exciting. I really hope this is a Pixar return to form. I liked Monsters U, but it wasn’t the best. This looks like it could be great.

This is now my most anticipated for 2015, love Pixar can’t wait. I noticed when they were showing footage from the other movies before they showed the footage from this one, Cars 2 is nowhere to be seen.

^I don’t think Cars is even in there, is it? At least they know what their weakest films are…

I think I saw Lightning McQueen during the “Joy” section.

Ah, you seem to be right. Still nowhere near as much as Nemo, Up, Monsters Inc and Walle. I think Ratatouille might have been a bit underrepresented.

Eh, we’re probably breathing too much into this. Just because one particular franchise joys up less often than others doesn’t mean that they dislike them.

^That’s true, I think it was mostly random, but they definitely recognize what their biggest hits were, regardless of Box Office.

I remember reading in an article online (I forgot the website), but it said that the first 15 minutes of Inside Out will rival the first 15 minutes of Up.

    O_O

Now I must see this film.

Meet the little actors in your head!

Seriously though, here’s a short video about the five primary actors in the movie. Loving the cast so far!

There’s talk that this could be the first animated film to get a Best Director nomination – that’s so exciting, and I’d love to see it happen, because animation directors are truly geniuses.
