No way. If Woody Allen still has a career after what he did and if Roman Polasnki still has a career then he should be ok too.

I think that too. Everyone knows all the powerful men in Hollywood are dirty pigs that like to abuse their power. It’s nothing new.

No. This looks like blackmail and/or extortion.

Not defending using understage teens for sex, or assaults after they (or anyone) are drunk. That’s wrong, obviously. But there are a lot of young people, including  guys, who come to LA with the hope of being invited to parties like these – sadly, some people think it’s glamorous. Some actually end up with contacts and legitimate careers out of this.

The accuser had a good memory in 2000 when he initially sued others. Singer – who would have been a prime target then – wasn’t mentioned.

And Singer was in Canada shooting an X Men film when supposedly the guy said Singer transported him to Hawaii.

My guess is that this will be easily disposed of.

X-Men still has three confirmed future releases. I think he’s gonna be fine!

Doubtful. If Victor Salva still has one, so can creepy Bryan Singer. And yes, he’s a creep. I’ve been reading so many stories of this guy and his love for young gay men since this broke.

Singer has been known to date men in their 20s. This is no more wrong than actors in their 40s dating females in their 20s. Why exactly is that creepy?

It is despicable whether or not it is women on the casting couch or boys being raped at parties. This is among the reasons that I think that Hollywood needs regulation.

The accuser had a good memory in 2000 when he initially sued others. Singer – who would have been a prime target then – wasn’t mentioned.

This is all based on what Singer is using as his defense right now. These are his words and his lawyers words, not some impartial observer.

I think we need to be careful how we discuss this. The victims are often blamed and personally attacked in sexual assault cases. And the authorities rarely act. We can’t simply take the words of the accused and say “oh, this will be thrown out easily”. Nor can we automatically support the accuser. But what we can do is let the facts play out without attacking the accuser when there is no substantial evidence that has been released supporting or opposing. If what the accuser says is true, then early attacks on his character would be incredibly deplorable.

I am sorry..This is being discussed a bit too light on these boards.
IF there is a history of pedophilia, or stalking….which I have read to
that effect, then he should be imprisoned and not have a chance to
do it again…I have read and even heard that he is a felon regarding
these matters…If he hasnt been brought up on charges or convicted
of anything, then he will continue to work in Hollywood and rape more
underage gay men…he might date men in his 20’s, but I have heard
that he has been with many “boys”…Please, his behavior should not
    be defended.

I know from good source that he’s very much into twinks. He likes ’em very young. And he doesn’t date them, he only fucks them. And his orgy parties are legendary. He’s a creep, just like Brett Ratner. No matter what swing your boat, you just shouldn’t abuse your power. But sadly that’s how this world works.

Wasn’t Singer already in trouble because of Apt Pupil?

There are great artists who are reprobates and sexual predators (Picasso, Chaplin, etc.) and there are hacks who are reprobates and sexual predators (Singer). I hope it does end his career and he’ll stop churning out all the crap. I can live without any more X-People. And aren’t those films (I saw only one, that was enough) targeted at children? They certainly don’t do anything for adults.

People need to be really careful about making charges of pedophilia. That word specifically relates to desire for children who are pre-pubescent, that is usually 11 or lower. No one is charging that Singer is a pedophiliac. That’s not on the table.

There are laws in some jurisdictions about sexual relations with older (16-17 year) teens. But that has nothing to do with pedophilia.

My position on this is that someone is innocent until proven guilty. Sorry if that seems weird. That these charges are coming out 15 years after the fact, when the accuser in great detail recounted them in 2000 and failed to mention Singer, smacks to me of opportunism and extortion. That Singer may be attracted and involved – legally – with males of legal age is his business, not ours.

Well, one of his biggest threats is if he tries making “Superman Return$ Again and Again” with the same two leads. Or if his X-Young Guy$ bombs.

Probably not.  Victor Salva was convicted of having sex with one of his underage actors on the set of “Clownhouse” and he still makes films and enjoys a decent amount of success.
