Every once in a while, a big budget film comes along that is so bad, even the film’s director publicly proclaims how bad it is. Surely that means that “Fantastic Four,” the latest stinker to come off the Hollywood conveyor belt, is an absolute LOCK for Razzies?
What do you think? What will give “Fantastic Four” a run for its money?
In short, yes, it’s absolutely a lock as of right now. I’m willing to bet even this early that it wins the big “prize”. I just hope they spare the actors.
Fantastic Four is a lock for across the board nominations, but Pixels is just too big to fail at the Razzies.
Hey! Rob’s making a thread now. Nice seeing you in the forums again, sir.
I think Fantastic Four is going to be a pretty big contender. It might have the worst PR of any movie released this year. I would not be surprised at all if Josh Trank becomes a big target for the Razzie voters, based on the various reports and rumors about his behavior (however valid or invalid), and the end product really highlights how terrible 20th Centure Fox has been in treating this property. The abysmal box office returns will be icing on the cake for them.
Pixels is likely going to get out a few nominations, but I feel like voters will just see it as more of the same from Sandler. I wouldn’t be suprised if he got Worst Actor again, but it doesn’t appear as if the film will be as big a talking point as Fantastic Four.
I’m also secretly hoping that The Road Chip is so excruciatingly bad that it swoops in and sweeps everything. Those movies must be stopped somehow, and maybe 5 Razzies or so will do the trick. I honestly felt physically unwell when I saw that trailer. I know it’s probably unlikely, but they did seem to really like The Oogieloves, so there’s always hope.
I would be shocked if this isn’t at the very least nominated for a bunch, the only movies I can see it give a run for it’s money are Pixels and Fifty Shades of Gray. Pixels has Razzie fav. Adam Sandler and Fifty Shade of Gray is Twilight fan-fiction nominating it would be to temping and it’s as bad as Twilight fan-fiction sounds.
