One thing has came to my mind. Who’s gonna present the Award this year? Since the rumour is Casey Affleck (who has more than one sexual harassment suit against him) may not be invited to hand the Oscar for another actress (and I’m pretty sure the winner Actress is not going to accept the Oscar if it’s handled by Affleck). Maybe the previous winner DiCaprio? or some of the last year nominees? Goslin, Washington, Garfield, Mortensen? or maybe a woman?

I thought they were invited soon after they have won? I think he’ll be there to present and if somehow his rumors become a topic again Christopher Plummer is the only option!!!

Why would he not present the best actress award. Didn’t the academy know about his “issues” when they gave him Oscar? And I think Frances McDormand can handle him just fine – she is winning the gold! Just do a Mildred Hayes and kick him in the balls… and this is coming from someone who loved his performance in “Manchester by the Sea”

Did something change from last year? I mean, did something new resurfaced? If not, then he’s presenting. Unless he doesn’t feel like it but if he won’t do it, it will be the same as writing “I did it! Now I’m afraid to show up” on Twitter.

There are no new allegations against him. But because of the #MeToo and Time’s UP movements I don’t think we’ll see him handing the Oscar to McDormand.

I think at this point it is just people want drama until the SAGs, so they stir things up. Cause there is no official statement from anywhere or any implication that he wouldn’t be there. It is pure speculation on online.

And she is the “it girl” of this awards season

For some reason I’ve never thought of Ronan as the “it girl”. Maybe because she looks “too” young. If anyone is, I’d think it’s Robbie.

Doesn’t Robbie have the more challenging role? I am still shocked she lost the GG.

Maybe Robbie could do what McDormand did and win SAG, than the Oscar.

I think Saoirse Ronan is more likely to do that, after she won the Globe over Robbie.

Not too long ago I was all excited thinking there was no front-runner and maybe just maybe for a change we would have a surprise winner. It’s a long shot but I am hoping that the academy throws us all a curve and gives the Oscar to anybody but McDormand. The only way at this point that won’t happen is if SAG gives their award to Dench, Hawkins, Robbie, or Ronan – all of whom would be magnificent winners and gave phenomenal performances!

Robbie hasn’t a prayer at SAG or BAFTA or the Oscars…and I say that as someone who’d probably vote for her.

That wouldn’t be doing what McDormand did. McDormand lost the Globe to Madonna then went onto winning the SAG and the Oscar.

I guess, but Ronan is far more likely to take SAG and Oscar than Robbie. It’s not exactly the same, but I think it’s the more realistic situation.

If SAG decided to award Judi Dench that would be the most hilarious thing ever! Now I want it to happen. BADLY!

I agree, though I’m rooting for Margot I don’t expect her to win anything anymore. I just think @england meant to compare Robbie to McDormand in Fargo with their comment.

And yes I agree, I think Ronan will win the rest of the industry awards.

If McDormand wins the SAG (which I think she will), then this race is over. It doesn’t matter who wins the BAFTA after that. I wouldn’t say that Ronan and Hawkins won’t win the SAG, but McDormand’s the heavy frontrunner there.
